Photography

These are somephotographs I took earlier in the year. I have changed them to black and white as in Photography we are doing cards and i have chosen to do a 'Sorry for your loss' card.

My idea was to have a black and white sunset and a dying red rose in the centre of the sun. As you can see I am having difficulty choosing which sunset picture I want to use so I will probably make a couple and decide which looks the best.

These are some of the rose pictures I am choosing between. I will then have to merge the pictures together using photoshop.

New Project

So we have a new project :)
It is entitled Homage to Books
In this project we do not have set tasks for us to do. We have more freedom to do what we want.
I have decided to focus on one of my favourite books by my favourite author Terry Pratchett.
It is called Nation.

When a giant wave destroys his village, Mau is the only one left. Daphne—a traveler from the other side of the globe—is the sole survivor of a shipwreck. Separated by language and customs, the two are united by catastrophe. Slowly, they are joined by other refugees. And as they struggle to protect the small band, Mau and Daphne defy ancestral spirits, challenge death himself, and uncover a long-hidden secret that literally turns the world upside down.

--Update--

We have now finished our Abstraction project and we will be starting our new project soon. At the moment we are continuing on with our personal statement and looking at universities.
I went to a Falmouth University open day and I was really impressed. The studios were amazing and the equipment was impressive. I am interested in the BA (hons) Marine and Natural History Photography course.

Ceramics update

This is the outside pattern of the press mold bowl I created with Katie. I used a grren oxide to link with the green slip on the inside. I then coated it is a cler glaze. I hope it looks ok when it comes out as my class has had problems with the clear slip, so fingers crossed!
I really like the way the green oxide has stayed in certain areas and in others it has been wiped away.
