Ceramics

These are some of the work I have been doing in Ceramics.

 

The main shapes I use are circles and rectangles. I also use lines to break up the clay.

 

 This was a bowl I made with one of the girls in my class. We used a technique called press moulding. We cut out shapes and drew patterns on them. We pressed them into a plaster mould with the pattern on the outside. We carried on untill the mould was complete. We knitted it together and left it do dry.

 

Once it was dry we painted a layer of green slip onto the inside. It then went into the kiln.

I really like the way this has turned out. I like the contrst between the red clay and the green slip.
